  1. The Red Earth Project is an ongoing artistic, interdisciplinary study centred on prose reflections and machine translation, drawing attention to the precarious status of non-western cultural heritage, knowledge systems and practices in the increasingly dominant Western systems of data, virtual architectures and AI technologies. A critical study of machine learning (AI), this research asks how alternative cosmologies can be better represented within virtual architectures powered by probabalistic computation.

7. Process 2: Making





            From Studies in the History of the Renaissance, 1873The process of making combines computational synthesis and manual sculptural processes. The generated skins with vertices, a built-in topography are used to make a series of totemic structures, evocative of Yoruba totems— imbued with meaning, messages, and sometimes specific stories. 



Virtual forms have amassed the prose, linguistic data embodying the text, and in potentially combining a number of them together, offer a physical hyper-codex, each object, or symbol filled with embodied language and metaphysical ideas.
